Summit White 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ AWD with a 3.0L V6 and 6-speed automatic this is one of those SUVs that feels like its trying to be responsible but also kind of nice about it.
You get that smooth, car-like ride, so you're not bouncing around like you're driving a truck, but you still sit up high enough to feel like you're in charge of the road. Its a nice balance. Like wearing sweatpants but they look like dress pants.
The LTZ trim means its loaded up premium interior, upgraded features, and just enough wow that when someone gets in, they go, Oh wow, this is nicer than I expected. Which, honestly, is the best compliment a vehicle like this can get.
The V6 gives it real power too. Not I hope I make it up this hill power actual, confident acceleration. You press the gas, and it responds like it understands what you're asking.
Inside, its quiet. Like suspiciously quiet. You might find yourself checking if its still running at a stoplight. Tons of storage, roomy back seats, and a layout that just makes sense everything is where you'd expect it to be.
And safety? It picked up the IIHS Top Safety Pick, which is basically the automotive version of your mom saying, I feel good about this one.
Reviews back it up too:
Smooth, comfortable ride with great handling for an SUV
Premium look and feel inside and out
Spacious interior with flexible seating
Tech features that were ahead of their time
Its practical, comfortable, and just a little nicer than it needs to be which is kind of the sweet spot.

Bad engines
by Ggsm on Wednesday, February 01, 2023
If you're looking into buying any general motors vehicle with the 2.4L ecotec, do your due diligence before buying and you'll find a plethora of defects with this engine from faulty pcv systems that clog up in the cold and force a blow out of your rear main seal while you're driving and without warning, excessive oil consumption, to cheap pins in the timing chain assemly that like to come loose while you're driving, all of which can and will cause catastrophic engine failure. Simply googling the words "2.4L ecotech" well bring up a ton of results related to current and pending class actions against general motors over this engines poor design and GMs unwillingness to correct any of the problems with it. - 5.0
Roomy, Sporty, Smooth and Fast
by Big Guy on Thursday, June 22, 2017
We were looking for a vehicle for my wife to use around town but one that I could drive if need be; we tested 5 other models and picked the Equinox LTZ. Im 6 feet 5 inches tall and 275 pounds and easily fit in this vehicle. Even with the driver seat all the way back there is still plenty of leg room for the back passenger. The 6 cylinder is very responsive, smooth and quiet; you cannot feel the transmission shifting from gear to gear. The LTZ looks more expensive than what we paid for it and considering all of the high-tech gadgetry in the vehicle we feel the Equinox was a great buy. Love the OnStar feature, once you use it you have to have it. My wife really likes all of the safety features (back up camera, lane change warning, vehicle approaching, etc.)...the leather in this vehicle is great looking and I particularly like the red baseball stitching around the seats. Just something to set it apart. Overall a great vehicle. Will purchase again.
